When I first started HerTribeNZ🌿(Find Your Tribe), I had no idea it would grow into what it is today—NZ’s largest women’s friendship network. A nationwide women’s movement helping NZ women find her people. But the journey hasn’t been easy.
Living remotely in the Coromandel Peninsula, it’s always been a hike to host the variety of events hosted nationwide. In fact, for 3 years, I flew up, down and across the country, hosting friendship events in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Nelson, and Christchurch, while building the Tribe community. Every time I returned home, exhausted wondering how else I could make it work….
One day, my partner Darius, suggested that I ask other women if they’d like to help with hosting the events. And, sure enough, they did!! As it turned out there were plenty of women within the Tribe who loved attending meetups and were just as keen to host. From there, the Tribe began to flourish, driven not just by me, but by an entire network of women passionate about building new connections.
A Growing Movement
Recently though, I’ve come to the realisation that I can’t do this alone anymore. We’ve reached a plateau, and I’ve had to face the fact that I can’t automate this whole gorgeous system any more. It’s time to ‘find my tribe’ by launching the Tribe as a charity. By collaborating with other passionate women, we’ll combine our skills, resources, and networks to create a community that can reach every woman in New Zealand who needs us. Together, we’ll make HerTribeNZ🌿 the go-to solution for every NZ women who is seeking connection, belonging, and some forever friends!
